    • Carlow 0-14 Westmeath 1-9 Leinster SHC Thirteen man Carlow held out against fourteen man, Westmeath in Dr. Cullen Park on Sunday and took a step closer to retaining their place in the Leinster SHC for next year. Having played their full quota of games this year, they will be looking anxiously at the London and Westmeath tie next Sunday. With a marginally inferior points difference than the other two candidates for Christy Ring status next year, the Barrowsiders have to hope that Westmeath can either draw with or beat London.     • Feile Best wishes to Éire Óg, Clonmore and Rathvilly girls who are representing Carlow in the Football Feile na nÓg this weekend June 27-29 at a Connacht venue. Congratulations to Muinebheag Feile Camogie team on getting to the Division 4B final. What a great weekend and in a great game the Bagenalstown girls were defeated by 1-2 to 0-3 by the Kerry representatives.

    • Carlow 0-17 Waterford 1-13 First Round Football Qualifier By Kieran Murphy In Dr. Cullen Park on Saturday, Carlow footballers put in a huge performance to beat Waterford in the first round of the Qualifiers. After shipping much criticism after the Meath defeat, the players were able to enjoy their moment of triumph in a gripping contest. Waterford played with the wind in the first half but despite nudging ahead with a couple of points, they were unable to turn the screw. Instead it was Carlow who could have scored two goals with Daragh Foley punching against the cross-bar and saw his pile-driver saved by Stephen Enright.
